Equilibrium

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

A co-worker movie buff recommended this movie.

After watching it, i’d say it’s entertaining…the story is not as good (relatively speaking) as “The Matrix” (a movie that is always compared to) but Bale’s and Watson’s acting did make up for it.  It’s one of those movies where the fight scenes are so cool and stylish you have to pause and repeat the scene…

Yes, it’s a “guy” movie.  If you’re the type who likes kung fu movies, you have to watch this one.  If you’re the sophisticated movie enthusiast type, move on.

Polaroid Instant Film Cameras

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

I bought one of those Polaroid “instant film” cameras (for use with something I’d rather not say here).  It’s quite funny; I haven’t used one of these my whole life, and when I opened the box the first thing I looked for was where to put the batteries…

After a minute of struggling, I opened the manual.  No section about batteries.  So I googled it…

Damn.  Who would have thought that the batteries are in the film cartridge?  And, yes, you replace the batteries with each change of film cartridge (which contains 10 shots…WOW!) Gawd, well, that’s a bone-headed design…I suppose that Polaroid designed the camera for the average American idiot consumer.

Car Buying Woes: Part IV

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

I got a response from the car manufacturer’s office.  Basically, they just acknowledged that what happened to me was wrong, and they were sorry about it, and the matter was forwarded to the dealer’s management office to be dealt with accordingly.

Wow, there must be a bunch of retards working in that office.  My problem was with the dealer’s management.  How the hell do you expect those bastards to handle it?  Spank themselves?

I’m going to respond.  I hate incompetent people.

Ice Age: The Meltdown

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

I watched this movie yesteday to comply with a request of a family member.

Overall, it’s a terrible movie.  It’s so bad I slept through a third of it.  There were a number of funny moments, but it could not compensate for the many, many loopholes of the plot.

Believe me, I didn’t have high expectations for this movie (since it’s made solely as cash cow).  “Ice Age” WAS good (not “The Incredibles” good, but it’s decent), and could not think of an idea on how they could ruin it (I guess making the sequel IS the bad idea).  But, hey, producers have managed to screw up impossible-to-ruin movies by making sequels for the ”The Matrix” and making “Star Wars” episodes 1, 2, and 3…

Guitar Hero

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

“My name is bubuli, and I’m a Guitar Hero addict…”

I’ve just finished Career Mode in Medium setting.  The most difficult song is “Cowboys from Hell”–there’s just no question; I barely finished it.

To really enjoy the game, I think you should play the controller like a guitar, not play it like a controller like in other games…that’s what I did, so my game improved immensely.  I play regular guitar with a pick, so that’s what I’m doing when I play GH……….

Next up: Finish GH Career Mode in Hard setting…somebody please intervene…
