Da Vinci Code Movie

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Not too long ago I wrote about what I think about this “movie” (I’m using this term loosely). I’ve seen the trailer, and I still more or less stand by my opinion…except…it’s not that too bad because of two things: Paul Bettany and Jean Reno. A movie is worth watching no matter how crappy the script/screenplay is as long as you have either of those two actors in there.

Yeah, I still think Tom Hanks is a miscast…he should be arrested for sporting that hairdo.

Speaking of Paul Bettany, I highly recommend “Wimbledon.” The producers were stupid for marketing this as a Kirsten Dunst movie. I wouldn’t say it’s Oscar-caliber (far from it), but it’s decent enough considering you got Kirsten in there.

Now Playing: Guitar Hero, Black

Monday, March 27th, 2006

Black.  I am sort of mixed about this game: the control is tight, the graphics are great…it has all this particle effects and all that mumbo-jumbo…and almost EVERYTHING is breakable…I didn’t think the Playstation2 is able to handle all this.  As for the game itself: well, it’s linear and and so predictable it’s almost insulting.  I was OK with that except for these two things: checkpoints are too far in between, and you CAN’T skip the FMVs.  With these terrible flaws, I probably won’t have the patience to finish the game.

Guitar Hero.  If you are familiar with Dance-Dance Revolution, this is sort of like that but you have a guitar.  I never really caught on with the Dance-Dance stuff because I thought it was tacky.  But Guitar Hero is a whole world of difference.  If you have a PS2 and you have a life, do not buy this game; it’s an addicting game.

I was about to write something about this new sitcom, but Oyni beat me to it.  Great writing, great chemistry.  ‘Nuff said.

It’s Not Over…

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

Those bastards probably thought it’s over.  I’m just warming up.

I sent a novel formal letter to the head office of the car manufacturer, with details of what I’ve went through with this particular dealer…and copies of the email(s) and the voicemail.

Why go through all the trouble?  Well, I could just let it go…besides, it’s easier that way, right?  But I don’t want to give them the satisfaction that they can just do this to anyone…

…And The Saga Continues…

Friday, March 17th, 2006

“Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, I just hope you fucking die.”
-bubuli

And so I thought the adventure with Dealer X ended there.

The following Monday after what happened last Saturday, my original salesman left two messages apologizing for the whole thing–AFTER I sent a nasty e-mail that I won’t be buying from them. When I finally spoke with him, he could not apologize enough and told me, as a sign of good faith, he would give me an even better price.

He did. It was $850 below the original quote that he gave me. Take note, I didn’t say, “I don’t think I’d be going with you unless you gave me this X price.” I just said, “The only reason I’d go with you is if you give me the absolute lowest price possible.” And then he gave me the price.

How Not To Sell A Car…

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

It has been a really aggravating day today.

I just wanted to buy a car.

I did all my research and talked to a number of dealers before deciding to go with this particular dealer.  They gave the lowest quote for the configuration that I wanted, plus they’re the closest dealer.

So after talking and exchanging emails, we’ve agreed to test drive and finalize the paperwork today.  2 PM.  Quite simple, right?  I had this anxiety that it was way too easy.  I am a firm believer of Murphy’s Law.  I knew something’s gonna go wrong…and it did:

American Idol Sucks…

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

…because it ruins my “House” and “Bones” viewing schedule.  I used to watch it a lot, but the interest kind of faded last season…I mean, really, more airtime is spent on who gets eliminated for a specific week…it’s getting old now…to the point that I absolutely cannot stand seeing Ryan Seacrest’s face anymore.
