8/27/2005 08:53:00 AM|||dalegaspi||| I just learned an expensive lesson with this piece of overhyped POS that is Das Keyboard: IT SUCKS.
- I knew it's not a good sign when I first plugged in the device and it showed in Window's Plug and Play as "KeyTronic Keyboard." WTF is this "KeyTronic keyboard?" Then I googled for KeyTronic keyboards. I felt gangraped after that. KeyTronic has an awfully similar model to the Das keyboard, the only difference is its PS/2 interface and a lot cheaper price...and, oh yeah, and the keys have labels. Smartass.
- I've had it for a short while and already I've been experiencing "stuck" keys while typing. I'm not sure if it's the USB interface or the keys themselves. One thing's for sure: it's going to piss you off when you've written hundreds of lines of code and the backspace key got stuck after you press it.
- The keys are too "loose" in my opinion. Especially the space bar. I hate it when i press the damn space bar on the sides, there's no tactile feedback (unless you look at the screen).
Come to think of it, the only thing I like about this keyboard is the "cool factor." Ohh...black, unlabeled keys. I'm sure that novelty is going to wear out pretty soon, pretty fast becaus of these frustrations I'm having. It's definitely going back to where it came from.
MaximumPC magazine gave this glowing recommendation on the keyboard. They're going to get a piece of my mind.
